We learned what the three Christian graces were in the latest posting on May 23rd, 2023, WHAT ARE THE THREE CHRISTIAN GRACES WHICH PROTECT THOSE WHO EXERCISE CARING!
As those who care and are on the frontlines sharing our Lord and his word the following was revealed. “We need the spiritual armour or the three Christian graces, faith, love, and hope.
Faith: If we believe that the eye of God is always upon us, that there is another world to prepare for, we shall see reason to watch and be sober.
True and fervent love to God and the things of God will keep us watchful and sober.
If we have hope of salvation, let us take heed of anything that would shake our trust in the Lord. We have ground on which to build unshaken hope, when we consider, that salvation is by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, to atone for our sins and to ransom our souls.”
Now that we have this protection it becomes clear there is work to be done on our part for that protection to apply.
If you recall I shared an article on May 19th, 2023, WHAT WISDOM DO WE WANT TO OBTAIN? IS IT FROM GOD, SEMENARY, OR UNIVERSITY? Now, many will ask how does this postings information apply to learning how to maintain and apply the Three Christian Graces.
I believe we find the correlation in the following excerpt. “Those that make this world their end, come short of the other, and are disappointed in this also; but those that make the other world their end, shall not only obtain that, and full satisfaction in it, but shall have as much of this world as is good for them, in their way. Let us then be contented, without those great things which men generally covet, but which commonly prove fatal snares to the soul.“
In identifying there is work to be done on our part, we must recognize Satan identifies these tools will be used against him and puts a plan into play to cause them to be ineffective.
I released this posting on May 18th, 2023, “DELUSION!” I believe this excerpt identifies how Satan will attempt to nullify the Three Christian Graces.
I have in the past quoted from Jessie Penn Lewis’s unabridged book “War on the Saints. At this point, I would like to share a very significant quote from Ms. Lewis’s book. On “page 306,” she relates this truth “Consciousness of God: Is Felt in the spirit, and not by the physical senses,” Ms. Lewis then explains the delusional (counterfeit) “Consciousness of God: in bodily sensations, which feed the “flesh” and overpower the true spirit-sense.”
In order to feed the false scenario the following is used to justify the position, many have taken, as a result of being caught up in delusional worship. I was drawn to James 2:12, “Some give this explanation, that as they flattered themselves too much, they are summoned to the right tribunal. For men absolve themselves according to their own notions because they withdraw themselves from the judgment of the divine law.” James then reminds them all deeds and words are there to be accounted for because God will judge the world according to his (God’s) law.
As discerning believers, we have found our journey is not a simple one to follow. The path is difficult to find and once found discovered to be narrow and not without trials and tribulations. With that in mind, we recognize it is designed for those traveling upon it to understand how they are being prepared for the comforts of our eternal journey. We were introduced to a very key tool in this May 23rd, 2023, posting DOES HAVING TEMPERANCE IN MY LIFE MAKE ME A ZEALOT? as part of this learning, we come to acknowledge Sin cannot reign in our mortal bodies, so we might obey it, Romans 6:12, for we now seek to destroy it. Christ never will own those who yield themselves up to be the servants of sin. And it is not enough that we cease to do evil, but we must learn the value of temperance in our lives in order to do well. Our conversation will always be answerable to the principle that guides and governs us, Romans 8:5-6
[5]For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
[6]For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
It is with this knowledge and understanding we will discover the wisdom required to maintain the THREE CHRISTIAN GRACES of protection.
