“DOUBT AND FEAR ARE SATAN’S TOOLS!”

2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

This article is predicated by a testimony from Judine, a dear sister in Christ.

We see in Job 1:6-7
[6]Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
[7]And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

We find Satan verifying how, by having the fear of God in our hearts, He builds a hedge of protection around us. Job 1:9-10
[9] Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “Doth Job fear God for naught?
[10] Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

This conversation is our confirmation of the power that emanates from the first commandment! Mark 12:30 KJV
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Why is understanding the power of our love called for in the first commandment so important? I believe we can find it here in 1 John 4:18 KJV
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

In recognizing this truth, it becomes clear how, by causing fear in the lives of believers, they open the door to doubt. By doing so, Satan is able to steal our gifts described in Mark 11:23 KJV
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

What I am asserting is for believers to recognize when they fear they have stated they want control of their lives and don’t realize they’ve opened a door for Satan to penetrate God’s hedge of protection. Forgetting who it is we are at war with being described in Ephesians 6:12 KJV
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. This reminder shows who is being granted entry and power over you, your life, home, and possesions.

We are able to recognize through Job’s afflictions that it began from the malice of Satan, by the Lord’s permission, for wise and holy purposes.

There is an evil spirit, the enemy of God, and of all righteousness, who is continually seeking to distress, to lead astray, and, if possible, to destroy those who love God. How far his influence may extend, we can not say; but probably much unsteadiness and unhappiness in Christians may be ascribed to him.

While we are on this earth, we are within his reach. Hence it concerns us to be sober and vigilant, 1 Peter 5:8. What difficulties will not the firm belief of his wisdom, power, and goodness overcome! Then, be humble under his hand. Cast “all you care;” personal cares, family cares, cares for the present, and cares for the future, for yourselves, for others, for the church, on God.
