The following is why we must assess whether our commitment to Salvation is as an escape from God’s wrath or commitment as a heart-felt servant of Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa?
Through God’s teachings, we will recognize; “Many believe in God only that I might heal them. So many believe in Me only that I might use my powers to drive unclean spirits out from their bodies, and so many believe in Me simply that they might receive peace and joy from me.
So many believe in Me only to demand from Me greater material wealth. So many believe in Me just to spend this life in peace and to be safe and sound in the world to come.
So many believe in Me to avoid the suffering of hell and to receive the blessings of heaven. So many believe in Me only for temporary comfort, yet do not seek to gain anything in the world to come.
Our wicked thoughts and affections, words and actions, defile us, and these only. As a corrupt fountain sends forth corrupt streams, so does a corrupt heart send forth corrupt reasonings, corrupt appetites and passions, and all the wicked words and actions that come from them.
A spiritual understanding of the law of God, and a sense of the evil of sin, will cause a man to seek for the grace of the Holy Spirit, to keep down the evil thoughts and affections that work within.
Mark 7:20-22 KJV – That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
²² Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness
Many have no certain knowledge of the characters of men, and are liable to mistakes and sins in their own conduct; but they are kept from error in stating the way of acceptance and salvation, the rule of obedience, the believer’s character and experience, and the final doom of unbelievers and hypocrites.
In such matters, their decision was right, and it was confirmed in heaven. But all pretensions of any man, either to absolve or retain men’s sins, are blasphemous and absurd. None can forgive sins, but God only. And this binding and loosing, in the common language of the Jews, signified to forbid and to allow, or to teach what is lawful or unlawful.
Some hold nothing but the truth as it is in Yeshua and preach nothing else. Others build on the good foundation that will not abide by the test when the day of the trial comes. We may be mistaken in ourselves and others; but there is a day coming that will show our actions in the true light, without covering or disguise.
Those who spread true and pure religion in all its branches and whose work will abide in the great day shall receive a reward. And how great! how much exceeding their deserts! There are others whose corrupt opinions and doctrines, or vain inventions and usages in the worship of God, shall be made known, disowned, and rejected in that day.
