“CARING!” WHY STRIVE FOR IT?

1 Peter 5:10 KJV
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Christ and his church form one body, as Head and members. Christians become members of this body by baptism. The outward rite is of Divine institution; it is a sign of the new birth and is called, therefore, the washing of regeneration, Titus 3:5. But it is by the Spirit, only by the renewing of the Holy Ghost, that we are made members of Christ’s body. And by communion with Christ at the Lord’s supper, we are strengthened, not by drinking the wine, but by drinking into one Spirit.

Each member has his form, place, and use. The meanest makes a part of the body. There must be a distinction of members in the body. So Christ’s members have different powers and different places. We should do the duties of our own place and not murmur or quarrel with others.

All the members of the body are useful and necessary to each other. Nor is there a member of the body of Christ, but may and ought to be useful to fellow members. As in the natural body of man, the members should be closely united by the strongest bonds of love; the good of the whole should be the object of all.

All Christians are dependent upon one another; each is to expect and receive help from the rest. Let us then have more of the spirit of union in our beliefs as followers of Yeshua.

Romans 12:5
[5]So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and everyone members one of another.

We are to do all the good we can, one to another, and for the common benefit. If we duly thought about the powers we have and how far we fail properly to improve them, it would humble us.

But as we must not be proud of our talents, so we must take heed lest, under a pretence of humility and self-denial, we are slothful in laying out ourselves for the good of others. We must not say, I am nothing; therefore, I will sit still, and do nothing; but, I am nothing in myself, and therefore I will lay out myself to the utmost, in the strength of the grace of Christ.

Whatever our gifts or situations may be, let us try to employ ourselves humbly, diligently, cheerfully, and in simplicity, not seeking our own credit or profit, but the good of many, for this world and that which is to come.

Take heed of everything contrary to truth. No longer flatter or deceive others. God’s people are children who will not lie, who dare not lie, and who hate and abhor lying. Take heed of anger and ungoverned passions. If there is just an occasion to express displeasure at what is wrong and to reprove, see that it be without sin. We give place to the devil when the first motions of sin are not grievous to our souls, when we consent to them, and when we repeat an evil deed. This teaches that as sin, if yielded unto, lets in the devil upon us, we are to resist it, keeping from all appearance of evil. Idleness makes thieves.

Those who will not work, expose themselves to temptations to steal. Men ought to be industrious, that they may do some good, and that they may be kept from temptation. They must labour, not only that they may live honestly, but that they may have to give to the wants of others. What then must we think of those called Christians, who grow rich by fraud, oppression, and deceitful practices! Alms, to be accepted by God, must not be gained by unrighteousness and robbery but by honesty and industry. God hates robbery for burnt-offerings.

The gift of the Holy Ghost is bestowed upon the disciples of Christ and not on the world. This is the favor God bears to his chosen. As the source of holiness and happiness, the Holy Spirit will abide with every believer forever.

In closing, hear this statement to ponder as I lift this prayer 2 Thessalonians 1:11 KJV
Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: Amen and Amen.

Robert a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven Yahewa. Bringing forward an eternal gift daily being offered by our living Saviour Yeshua.
