He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.
Nothing is done to purpose, in religion, unless it is done with the heart. The heart must be fixed for the duty, put in frame for it; fixed in the duty by close attention. Our tongue is our glory, and never more so than when praising God; dull and sleepy devotions will never be acceptable to God. Let us awake early in the morning, to begin the day with God; early in the beginning of a mercy. When God comes toward us with his favours, let us go forth to meet him with our praises.
When men become eminent for things as to which they have had few advantages, they should be more deeply sensible that God has been their Teacher. Happy those to whom the Lord gives that noblest victory, conquest and dominion over their own spirits. A prayer for further mercy is fitly begun with a thanksgiving for former mercy.
Man’s days have little substance, considering how many thoughts and cares of a never-dying soul are employed about a poor dying body. Man’s life is as a shadow that passes away. In their highest earthly exaltation, believers will recollect how mean, sinful, and vile they are in themselves; thus they will be preserved from self-importance and presumption. God’s time to help his people is, when they are sinking, and all other helps fail.
Be with us “Oh” Lord as we walk in your grace and protection. Strengthen and lift us up in your greatness. Place within us your understanding and patience that we might walk among the lost who ply to murder us. Brighten your light so it might shine far and deep into the darkness. Sharpen our words that they may form the Two-Edged sword we will need for spiritual battle. We ask all this in your name Yeshua, Amen, and Amen.
ROBERT a humble obedient servant to Yeshua and his Father in heaven YA.
