In conversation with a military friend, our conversation swung to readiness

actually being mentally as well as physically (properly equipped and trained) and spiritually prepared. Mike pointed out that all of these features are interrelated in a warrior. However, he related the following event which occurred at the turn of the 20th Century and I am going to use it as an illustration of improper information affecting the engagement of a spiritual army going into battle. 

The gist of the story goes as follows, the battleground was set, the buildup had occurred, and the actual time for the attack to take place was determined. To fully comprehend why the result happened as it did, the battle was over in 15 mins. and the attacking force of seasoned warriors was totally wiped out. There were 500 souls taken in that span of time, The 500 were armed with shields of hard-faced leather and 5-foot Spears (2 per man) along with a machette-style blade, and daggers. 

The defending force of 50 troops was well-positioned and heavily equipped with repeating rifles, machine guns, mortars, grenades and sidearms. Stood their ground and within 15 mins wiped out the charging 500.

Some suggest it was a suicide mission on the part of those who were slaughtered, and in hindsight it was. In retrospect, when we analyze the preparation of the 500 for battle, it will show how they did not lack in the areas of Physical, Mental, or positional preparation. But most importantly it was their weaponry or lack of it which caused their downfall and demise. They were not fully prepared to enter into battle as many today in the Ecclesia are entering the spiritual battles willingly and eagerly but lacking the proper weaponry or knowledge of how to use their two-edged sword.

OUR PRAYER!

Father in heaven we have heard your warnings and are preparing for what is ahead. You Lord know our needs and requirements, We petition you Father to bring into our lives your leadership skills, strengthen our determination, and deepen our ability to discern, plan, and execute according to Your will Father. Identify our spiritual weapons and send through the Holy Spirit the knowledge to maintain and use our weapons effectively Lord. In all of this Lord, we pray in your name Yeshua,  Amen and Amen
