The favour of God, the welfare of the soul, and the concerns of eternity, are the things of the Spirit, which those that are after the Spirit do mind. Which way do our thoughts move with the most pleasure? Which way do our plans and contrivances proceed?
Are we most wise for the world, or for our souls? Those that live in pleasure are dead, 1 Timothy 5:6. A sanctified soul is a living soul, and that life is peace. The carnal mind is not only an enemy to God but enmity itself. The carnal man may, by the power of Divine grace, be made subject to the law of God, but the carnal mind never can; that must be broken and driven out.
We may know our real state and character by inquiring whether we have the Spirit of God and Christ, or not, 1 Timothy 5:9. Ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit. Having the Spirit of Christ means having a turn of mind in some degree like the mind that was in Christ Jesus, and is to be shown by a life and conversation suitable to his precepts and example.
So in a word, we are put in this dilemma, either to displease the body or destroy the soul. The Spirit of adoption is another privilege belonging to those that are in Christ Jesus, Romans 8:14-16 1. All that are Christ’s are taken into the relation of Children to God, Romans 8:14. Observe their property: They are led by the Spirit of God, as a scholar in his learning is led by his tutor, as a traveller in his journey is led by his guide, as a soldier in his engagements is led by his captain not driven as beasts, but led as rational creatures, drawn with the cords of a man and the bands of love. It is the undoubted character of all true believers that they are led by the Spirit of God. Having submitted themselves in believing to his guidance, they do in their obedience follow that guidance and are sweetly led into all truth and all duty.
OUR PRAYER
This prayer is for everyone to hold fast to calm and reason. Our prayer for Yeshua’s warriors. I greet those walking with Yeshua. Father bring peace to those who are struggling to find you Lord brighten the light of the one within your children meant to be there for them.
Lord release your love unto all and fill the world with peace never before felt or realized. Unbind the minds of those captured by the enemy open their eyes Father melt all the delusions they might be walking in.
Strengthen the nets of your Fisher of Men so that their harvest would be more significant with each cast of their net. Bring the words to all you are calling into the “den of wolves.” Fill us with your strength, courage and fervour to go forward in the face of the enemy. This we pray in the name of Yeshua Amen and Amen.
If professors of the gospel give way to any corrupt principle or conduct, they are worse than those who do not profess to believe in the doctrines of grace.
