PRAYER FOR SEPTEMBER 22, 2022, “THROUGH THE WILL OF GOD!

James 2:12, “Some give this explanation, that as they flattered themselves too much, they are summoned to the right tribunal. For men absolve themselves according to their own notions because they withdraw themselves from the judgment of the divine law.”

To combat the temptations to fall back into the flesh and the wiles of those in the world, Peter provided these thoughts “if we are walking with our Lord Yeshua we no longer should live the rest of our lives in the flesh but to the will of God.”

Questioning ourselves is of significant use in every part of the holy life. Let us be more frequent in this, and in everything, take occasion to discourse with our souls. A lowly state is most favourable for inward peace and for growth in holiness. God would give all believers riches and honours of this world if these would do them good, seeing that he has chosen them to be rich in faith and made them heirs of his kingdom, which he promised to bestow on all who love him.

Nothing is more needful to true godliness than a contrite heart, broken off from every self-confidence. In this soil, every grace will flourish, and nothing can encourage such a one but the free, rich grace of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The righteous are taken under the special protection of the Lord, yet they have their share of crosses in this world.

OUR PRAYER!

Heavenly Father we approach your throne as humble and meek servants needing your assistance if it is in your will Lord. We place before you our petitions to have the knowledge to identify Satan’s temptations being placed before us through the flesh and the eyes. Place in us the ability to receive the truth about our weaknesses and failings that we might, with a repentant heart, come before you appealing for your forgiveness and strengthening. As heirs to your kingdom Lord we plead for your wisdom that you may see fit to bring the riches of this world to be in our lives according to your will. Place before us, Father, the challenge needed to bring about a contrite heart and the removal of all pride and arrogance; fill our hearts with Yeshua’s words so we might receive your rich grace. As we walk in our relationship with you, Lord, cover us with your wings so we might abide in safety peace and your shadow declaring you as our refuge and fortress. These petitions I place before your throne in the name of our interceder Yeshua, Amen and Amen.
