Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. [22] And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
The cursing of the barren fig-tree represents the state of hypocrites in general, and so teaches us that Christ looks for the power of religion in those who profess it, and the savour of it from those that have the show of it.
His just expectations from flourishing professors are often disappointed; he comes to many, seeking fruit, and finds leaves only. A false profession commonly withers in this world, and it is the effect of Christ’s curse. The fig tree that had no fruit soon loses its leaves.
James 1:7-8
[7] For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord.
[8] A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Remember, those will not be approved hereafter who seek the chief places, but those who are most faithful to the trust placed in them, and most diligent in their Master’s work.
1 Corinthians 13:2
[2] And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
But love, in its fullest meaning; is true love to God and man. Without this, the most glorious gifts are of no account to us, of no esteem in the sight of God. A clear head and a deep understanding, are of no value without a benevolent and charitable heart. There may be an open and lavish hand, where there is not a liberal and charitable heart. Doing good to others will do nothing for us if it is not done from love to God, and good-will to men.
If we give away all we have, while we withhold the heart from God, it will not profit. Nor even the most painful sufferings. How are those deluded who look for acceptance and reward for their good works, which are as scanty and defective as they are corrupt and selfish!
As part of this commentary and warning of what may be lacking in the Ecclesia, I am again quoting Pastor Bob Woodward who authored under his pseudonym Old Hillbilly, his book β “What Is Man? It’s an excellent read, and available at Amazon. Here is Pastor Woodward’s short message.
Good morning from Branson Mo. The temperature is 38 and the forecast high is 74. … Praying for the sick is a part of who we are in Christ, yet so much of the time it seems to be an afterthought. If the prayer is without strong empathy and compassion, a true love π then it has not the driving force required to get it past the unbelief. Jesus sent his disciples out and they came back stating their lack of success. Jesus said, this kind goes not out but by PRAYER and FASTING. There are multiple elements that make a successful prayer life, but according to Romans 13, love is the foundation for all.
… Father we seek the agape love π that comes only from you that we may be found faithful. Let us be used by you in the perfect harmony of your will; in Jesus’ name β€ Amen.
It is important to understand just how deep a role the First Commandment plays in our walk and the essence of our lives.
The reason I bring this forward. For me, we must first determine if we have received our Father’s compassion to share. If I discern this properly and note quoting Pastor Woodward “love, in its fullest meaning; is true love to God and man. Without this, the most glorious gifts are of no account to us, of no esteem in the sight of God.“
It then becomes important to recognize a residue which many may need to expose, could be identified spiritually, to be selfishness. Which in many cases is a difficult condition for these individuals to deal with.
Now, this next piece of information may hit home for many, causing, I pray, a spiritual conviction.
For instance, there are many who profess to be following in Yeshuas footprints, yet are still partially connected to the world by having one foot still in the world some not recognizing others not desiring to let go of their Luxurious Sins.

However, I say stop right now, you need to assess your walk, truth is before you as a message from Yeshua.
You at times may have asked in prayer to be assisted in understanding why your endeavours are falling short. The answer to your prayer is before you being delivered by the Lord’s obedient servant. You are trying to discern the message with carnal wisdom, knowing spiritual wisdom must be used to discern spiritual matters.
What is holding you in the world has been shown by our Father in heaven, yet you stubbornly remain entrenched. Hear the Trumpet, and spiritually step back fervently look at the picture before you, our Lord has called out to you “follow me,” and is walking away, clearly leaving His footprints visible for those wanting to follow too place each of their feet into His footprints when they are following; many must take their foot which is still anchoring them to the world, as clearly we can see there is a left and right footprint to step in. The recognition is “nobody,” can do it having only one foot available. Mind you many are selfishly trying, and are not recognizing their stubborness, and selfishness is the reason for their failing endeavours while believing they are standing with and in faith.
We then learn, the Holy Spirit being grieved at the selfishness, will leave the selfish heart without comfort, and full of darkness and terror. How can it be known that a man has a true sense of the love of Christ for perishing sinners, or that the love of God has been planted in his heart by the Holy Spirit, if the love of the world’s comforts and luxuries, can and will overwhelm God’s compassion? And like Pastor Woodward stated, “If the prayer is without strong empathy and compassion, a true love π then it has not the driving force required to get it past the unbelief.”
Rightly to divide the word of truth, a great difference must be put between the promise and the law, as to the inward affections, and the whole practice of life. When the promise is mingled with the law, it is made nothing but the law. Let Christ be always before our eyes, as a sure argument for the defence of faith, against dependence on human righteousness.
Remember these articles are published by an obedient servant. Thank you for your courage in seeking truth and Eternal life. Never stop building your relationship with our Savior recognize each chapter and verse you research is drawing you closer to Him.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
