As believers we are faced with many different challenges and maladies daily. There are many different approaches to these incidents. We can face them as the worldly do, using man’s wisdom, or we can use discernment and heavenly wisdom, the Holy Spirit provides.
As examples in these words Each malady is a step forward in our service as an instrument; the malady is like a honing stone sharpening your two edged sword, deepening your words of prayer to have a keener edge when placed against Satan.
We are reminded who it is bringing the maladies against us the accusations and, the temptations
Ephesians 6:12 KJV
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
To the Christian armed for defense in battle, we recommend your weapon of attack, but it is enough, the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. It subdues and mortifies evil desires and blasphemous thoughts as they arise within and answers unbelief and error as they assault from without. A single text, well understood, and rightly applied, at once destroys a temptation or an objection and subdues the most formidable adversary. Prayer must fasten all the other parts of our Christian Armor. There are other duties of religion, and of our stations in the world, but we must keep up times of prayer.
The human body in its present form and with its wants and weaknesses can not enter or enjoy the kingdom of God. Then, let us not sow to the flesh, of which we can only reap corruption. And the body follows the state of the soul. He, therefore, who neglects the life of the soul casts away his present good; he who refuses to live to God, squanders all he has.
The Spirit sends his influences where, and when, on whom, and in what measure and degree, he pleases. Though the causes are hidden, the effects are plain, when the soul is brought to mourn for sin, and to breathe after Christ.
We are faced with two choices, we can choose to think carnally and walk as a man in the world’s wisdom or we can choose to accept the teachings of the Holy Spirit and the wisdom from heaven and walk as an instrument in God’s hands.
Our Lord declares the authority with which we would be invested. We would speak in the name of our brethren, and relates to the brethren as well as to ourselves. We have no certain knowledge of the characters of men, and are liable to mistakes and sins in our own conduct; but we are kept from error in stating the way of acceptance and salvation, the rule of obedience, the believer’s character and experience, and the final doom of unbelievers and hypocrites.
The worker therein is the Spirit of God; it is the renewing of the Holy Ghost. Through him, we mortify sin, perform duty, walk in God’s ways; all the working of the Divine life in us, and the fruits of righteousness without, are through this blessed and holy Spirit. The Spirit and his saving gifts and graces come through Christ as a Saviour, whose undertaking and work are to bring to grace and glory. Justification, in the gospel sense, is the free forgiveness of a sinner, accepting him as righteous through the righteousness of Christ received by faith. God, in justifying a sinner in the way of the gospel, is gracious to him, yet just to himself and his law. As forgiveness is through a perfect righteousness, and satisfaction is made to justice by Christ, it cannot be merited by the sinner himself. Eternal life is set before us in the promise; the Spirit works faith in us, and hope of that life; faith and hope bring it near and fill with joy in expectation of it.
Remember these articles are just messages of a humble, obedient Servant called to be a Watchman sounding the Trumpet, making the flock aware. God’s blessings to those who hear the Trumpet. And know true messengers cannot be delegated they must have the spirit of God in them as Peter did when, with eyes full of heavenly light and heart glowing with sacred fire, declared Yeshua, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God!” May God bring blessings to all who walk in the name of Yeshua as Adopted children. “Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord; (For we walk by faith, not by sight). We are confident, I say, and willing rather be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” (2Corinthians 5:6-8)
