Psalms 91:9-12
[9] Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation.
[10] There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
[11] For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
[12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
In part one we were shown how deep man’s form of protection has cunningly exposed them to many forms of evil, functioning within the worlds vision of protection.

In comparison, we were also shown how our Lord protects his children from plagues and evil.
In part two it is my desire to elaborate on the promises bestowed on those wise enough to forsake man’s wisdom and stand in faith with Yeshua as their interceder in this life offering protection.
When we look into these promises, it’s easy to see they are identified throughout Scripture.
Our first glimpse comes in Psalm 71:3 every true believer may come boldly to the throne of grace. The gracious care of Divine providence in our birth and infancy, should engage us to early piety. He that was our Help from our birth, ought to be our Hope from our youth. Let none expect ease or comfort from the world. Those who love the Lord, often are hated and persecuted; men wondered at for their principles and conduct; but the Lord has been their strong refuge. The faithful servants of God may be assured that he will not cast them off in old age, nor forsake them when their strength fails.
Which in turn leads us to Psalm 90:1 The favour and protection of God are the only sure rest and comfort of the soul in this evil world. Christ Jesus is the refuge and dwelling-place to which we may repair. We are dying creatures, all our comforts in the world are dying comforts, but God is an ever-living God, and believers find him so. When God, by sickness, or other afflictions, turns men to destruction, he thereby calls men to return unto him to repent of their sins, and live a new life.
In this explanation we observe what Psalm 34:7 offers When we look to the world, we are perplexed, and at a loss. But on looking to Christ depends our whole salvation, and all things needful thereunto do so also.
If we hope to spend eternity in praising God, it is fit that we should spend much of our time here in this work. He never said to anyone, Seek ye me in vain. David’s prayers helped to silence his fears; many besides him have looked unto the Lord by faith and prayer, and it has wonderfully revived and comforted them.
Now here is where it becomes interesting and in my estimation quite exciting and an incentive to continue widening the gap between you and the world and its wisdom.
My excitement is revealed in the following three verses Matthew 4:6 and Luke 4:10,11. Being in all things made like unto his brethren, Jesus would, like the other children of God, live in dependence upon the Divine Providence and promise. The word of God is our sword, and faith in that word is our shield. God has many ways of providing for his people, and therefore is at all times to be depended upon in the way of duty.
2. Satan tempted Christ to presume upon his Father’s power and protection, in a point of safety. Nor are any extremes more dangerous than despair and presumption, especially in the affairs of our souls. Satan has no objection to holy places as the scene of his assaults. Let us not, in any place, be off our watch. The holy city is the place, where he does, with the greatest advantage, tempt men to pride and presumption.
It is possible for a man to have his head full of Scripture notions, and his mouth full of Scripture expressions, while his heart is full of bitter enmity to God and to all goodness.
If we go out of our way, out of the way of our duty, we forfeit the promise, and put ourselves out of God’s protection.
No 3. Satan tempted Christ to idolatry with the offer of the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them. The glory of the world is the most charming temptation to the unthinking and unwary; by those men are most easily imposed upon.
We close by looking at the final two explanations of how those who follow the first commandment, without doubt, find what Psalm 91:15,16 bring forward: Whatever happens, nothing shall hurt the believer; though trouble and affliction befall, it shall come, not for his hurt, but for good, though for the present it be not joyous but grievous. Those who rightly know God, will set their love upon him. They by prayer constantly call upon him. His promise is, that he will in due time deliver the believer out of trouble, and in the meantime be with him in trouble. The Lord will manage all his worldly concerns, and preserve his life on earth, so long as it shall be good for him. For encouragement in this he looks unto Jesus. He shall live long enough; till he has done the work he was sent into this world for, and is ready for heaven. Who would wish to live a day longer than God has some work to do, either by him or upon him?
Today I stand before you all humbled and grateful for all I have received doing this article. I know our Father gives us a tender heart when we come to him through faith and walk under his grace. If it is possible, I believe mine has been further tenderized. May you all go in Peace and under God’s care.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
In bad company, we cannot but obtain either guilt or grief. Let the sins of others be troubles to us.
