“LET’S SHORTCUT”

“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” (James 1:25)

By covenant-breaking, when we make promises to God, binding our souls with those bonds to that which is good, and yet perform not to the Lord our vows, we take his name in vain (Matthew 5:33), it is folly, and God has no pleasure in fools (Ecclesiastes 5:4), nor will he be mocked, (Galatians 6:7).

 PRE-AMBLE by Robert

Our current society is fixated on receiving gratification instantly. This thought process has infiltrated our Assemblies. This form of mindset becomes a deep weapon for Satan, drawing many into a situation where they depend on physical attributions rather than spiritual teachings from the Holy Spirit. Fast-tracking our spiritual beliefs is dangerous as it opens up the Assembly to deceptions and false teachings.

Jesse Penn-Lewis, in her book the unabridged copy of “War On The Saints”, published some 80 years past in collaboration with Evan Roberts predicted and identified how this would occur because of misinformation and lack of understanding of who the enemy is.

The question here is, “What happens to an individual who is born again? Does Scripture teach, the new birth includes automatic expulsion of demons? (Ephesians 2:1-3) clearly teaches all human beings are under the influence of the evil one, and his influence over mankind is exercised by evil spirits. We all were in this condition.

But in the new birth, the infant believer has his sins forgiven. Our spirit, formerly dead in trespasses and sin, is made alive by the spirit of God. We now begin to have the power to overcome the very things which enslaved us. But nowhere does Scripture or experience teach the new birth automatically eliminates demonic influence or bondage, or all of the carryovers of the old man such as tempers, moods, lusts, envyings, selfishness, prejudice, naming a few.

Here is the caution of attempting to shortcut Salvation. A born again believer must learn to work out his Salvation, deny himself and die daily, walk in the spirit lest fulfilling the lusts of his flesh. 

The process of growing up in Yeshua (Christ) is usually painful, though the result is glorious. The most painful part usually is discovering certain areas in which we have been deceived. 

OPENING STATEMENT by Robert

I am quoting from the recently released article “AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE,” as I believe it applies here by supplying additional information explaining the misgivings of “shortcutting,” working out our Salvation. These steps may expose what we had been told will be discoveries of those areas we have been deceived. And through these steps, reveal what Satan could use against our walk.

(James 1:21) shows what we are required to prepare ourselves for. To get rid of every corrupt affection and of every prejudice and prepossession, and to lay aside those sins which pervert the judgment and blind the mind. All the filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, before explained, must, in an especial manner. Be subdued and cast off, by all such as attend on the word of the gospel.

2. We are directed how to hear it: Receive with meekness the engrafted word, which can save your souls

(1) In hearing the word of God. We are to receive it–assent to the truths of it–consent to the laws of it receive it as the stock does the graft so as that the fruit which is produced may be, not according to the nature of the sour stock, but according to the nature of that word of the gospel which is engrafted into our souls.
(2) We must, therefore, yield ourselves to the word of God, with most submissive, humble, and tractable tempers: this is to receive it with meekness. Being willing to hear of our faults, and taking it not only patiently, but thankfully, desiring also to be moulded and formed by the doctrines and precepts of the gospel

(3) In all our hearing, we should aim at the Salvation of our souls. It is the design of the word of God to make us wise to salvation, and those who propose any meaner or lower ends to themselves in attending upon it dishonour the gospel and disappoint their souls. We should come to the word of God (both to read it and hear it), as those who know it is the power of God unto Salvation to every one that believeth, Romans 1:16.

3. (James 1:22) We are taught what is to be done after hearing: But be you doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Observe here: Hearing is to do the most attentive, and the most frequent hearing of the word of God will not avail us unless we are also doers of it.

CLOSING PRAYER by Robert

Heavenly Father, bring our lives into unison with Yeshua’s teachings and guidance out of the darkness ahead. I pray Father not one believes they have all the answers and humble themselves before you, Father. I ask Father that you release discernment and recognition unto all of our minds, that we may be safe and strengthened as we go forward in Your name. Lord, bring us insight and courage to stand as bright Beacons drawing many unto your light in the days and weeks ahead. Fill us with your wisdom that we might share it as your love and compassion for those lost, confused, as well as lacking in their relationship with You Lord. We pray this in your name Yeshua AMEN AND AMEN

CLOSING STATEMENT by Robert 

In closing, I am sharing from Jesse Penn-Lewis’s book “WAR ON THE SAINTS” pages 59 -60 Ms. Penn-Lewis states, One effect of over-eagerness in desiring knowledge, is feverish anxiety, and a restless impatience, worry and trouble, which causes a loss of moral poise and power. It is essential in seeking one “blessing” not to destroy another. 

In seeking knowledge of spiritual things, let not the believer lose patience, and calm quiet restfulness, and faith, let him watch himself, lest the enemy gain advantage and rob him of moral power. At the same time, he is keen to get light and truth upon the way of victory over him.

When believers first hear of the possibility of counterfeits of God and Divine things, they almost invariably ask, “How are we to know which is which?” It is enough, first of all, for them to know that such counterfeits are possible, and then, as they mature, or seek light from God, they learn to know for themselves, as no human being can explain them.

But they cry, “We do not know, and how can we know?” They should remain neutral to all supernatural workings until they do know. There is, among many, wrong anxiety to know as if knowledge alone would save them. They think they must be either for or against certain things, which they cannot decide are either from God or from the devil.

And want to know infallibly which is which, that they may declare their position. But believers can take the attitude of “for” or “against” without knowing whether the things they are in doubt about are Divine or Satanic. And maintain the wisdom and safety of the neutral position to the things themselves, until, by a means which cannot be adequately described, they know what they have wanted to understand. 

One of many dangers to know and be cautious about is not to become familiar with using, “Coined Phrases.” Which centre around describing a special experience, and words in familiar use among earnest children of God who attend Conventions; such as “possess,” and “control” those who “surrender,” and “let go,” all containing truth in relation to God, but in the interpretation of them in the minds of many believers, liable to bring about conditions for the evil of Satan, to “possess” or “control” those who “surrender,” and “let go” to the powers of the spiritual world. Not knowing how to discern between the working of God and Satan.

We have learned there is a spiritual war in the heavenly and that evil has entered into our world and is manifesting placing unsuspecting victims in peril. The keyword being unsuspecting because of a mistaken conception of spiritual truth centred around these phrases, “God can do everything if I trust Him He must keep me. Not understanding God works according to laws, and conditions, and that those who trust Him, should seek to know the conditions upon which He can work in response to their trust. “If I were wrong, God would not use me“; Not understanding that if a man is right in his will, God will use him to the fullest extent possible, but this being “used” of God is no guarantee any man is “absolutely right in all that he says and does.”

This final deception is holding multiple churches in its deception. “God, Who is Love, will not allow me to be deceived,“ is of itself a deception, based on ignorance of the depths of the Fall, and the misconception that God works irrespective of spiritual laws. “I do not believe it possible for a Chrisitan to be deceived,” is a shutting of the eyes to facts around us on every hand. Many other similar misconceptions of spiritual things by today’s believers give an opportunity to the deception of the enemy because they cause believers to close their minds to

1. the statements of God’s Word;

2. the facts of life;

3. and the help of others who could throw light upon the way (1Peter 1:12)
