“LOOSE NOTIONS ABOUT WORSHIP!”

PRE-AMBLE by Robert

As I am writing this article Louis Armstrong is singing his rendition of “A Wonderful World.” This question came to mind as I listened and having my spirit stirred by the music and the sincerity of the lyrics, the following question came to mind.

Why would I leave all these comforts, [according to Louis Armstrong] of a wonderful world? A world that offers instant communication globally, almost everything instant and right at my fingertips, a world where I can accomplish anything I desire if I apply myself. A world where information true or false is instantly available. 

So why is it, I can’t have one foot in the world and one walking on Yeshua’s path? Would that not give me the best of two worlds, what Yeshua is offering and the comforts the world is providing.

I am doing it right now, studying scripture, weekly attending church, volunteering at the church, and sharing the Lord’s word every chance I have. I demonstrate a good family life caring for my wife and children. Providing a comfortable home and all the amenities my lifestyle allows. So where am I going wrong? And I know the word says I cannot have two masters. The use we are to make of God’s word may be learnt from its being compared to a mirror, in which a man may behold his natural face.

As a mirror shows us the spots and defilements upon our faces, so they may be remedied and washed off, the word of God reveals our sins, so we may repent of them and have them pardoned. It shows us what is amiss, that it may be amended. Some mirrors will flatter people, but that which is truly the word of God is no flattering mirror.

If you flatter yourselves, it is your own fault, the truth, as it is in Yeshua (Jesus Christ), flatters no man. Let the word of truth be carefully attended to, and it will set before you the corruption of your nature, the disorders of your hearts and lives, it will tell you plainly what type of salt you are, Savoury to season or Flat, to be trodden upon. 

Have you noticed how quickly time is passing, not sure if it is old age or time is just speeding up? This matters little when you consider what indeed is occurring right before our eyes. We are busy working and living while our societal moralities are declining.

We see the luxuries of our times as beneficial. And, as individuals, they have brought us comfort and instant gratification. However, they, in turn, have taken us into another realm of morality, one which is void of actual human conversation, the togetherness of people who share a commonality, merely being able to reach out and touch a fellow human.

These luxuries of instant messaging have allowed the critical, and cynical side of people to be present. It has opened the door for the new phenomena of creating stories known as instant Fake News, known in earlier times as propaganda. This knowledge gained, is revealing, how Satan uses distractions to capture the unaware and distracted. As I received more and more information from the Holy Spirit, it became obvious, how many were falling short of keeping even the simplest of God’s Laws. Keep in mind Satan’s greatest weapon against us is to make us believe what we are doing is “right in our minds.” 

Remember, these articles are given as warnings from a humble servant as God’s Watchman bringing His warnings to the flock of impending dangers. I pray for all to be covered with Yeshua’s blessings. Be at peace and in Faith as you journey forward doing God’s calling and work. As Yeshua said, be as wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove. Times are now, we must all be aware of our surroundings, and who it is we are dealing with. “And Yeshua through the Holy Spirit said unto me, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
