“ARE YOU THIRSTY?”

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?  John 4:9,11

PRE-AMBLE by Robert

73f29bc0e22c48ac3180284eec6152e28040400510505317375.jpgOur life is our day, in which it concerns us to do the work of the day. We must be busy, and not waste time; it will be time to rest when our day is done, for it is but a day. The approach of death should quicken us to improve all our opportunities of doing and getting good.

Give it to me, saith she, not that I may have everlasting life, which Yeshua proposed, but that I come not hither to draw. The carnal mind is very ingenious in shifting off convictions and keeping them from fastening. But how 61bfc8388e86e9ac222c1c13618222673834947434923067048.jpgclosely our Lord Yeshua brings home the conviction to her conscience! He severely reproved her present state of life. The woman acknowledged Christ to be a prophet. The power of his word in searching the heart, and convincing the conscience of secret things, is a proof of Divine authority.

It should cool our contests, to think that the things we are striving about are passing away. The object of worship will continue still the same, God, as a Father; but an end shall be put to all differences about the place of worship. Reason teaches us to consult decency and convenience in the places of our worship; but religion gives no preference to one place above another, in respect of holiness and approval with God.

OPENING PRAYER by Robert

0f85cb539bb5f2105d269657eae63ef6Heavenly Father hear our petition which we place before your throne! We humbly ask for your wisdom, meekness, humility, patience, understanding, strength discernment and courage to fill us as we are being prepared for the Heavenly Gifts you choose to bestow upon us. We ask this in all humility and meekness in your name, Yeshua. Bring upon us Father your words as promised in times of need to remove the spirit of fear from our minds, fill our minds with your knowledge as you did Yeshua in his time of need. We humbly in reverence for your greatness Father petition for your kindness to be upon us. This we pray in the name of Yeshua Amen and Amen.

OPENING STATEMENT by Robert

Yeshua asked a woman for water. She was surprised because he did not show the anger of his own nation against the Samaritans. Moderate men of all sides are men wondered at. Yeshua took the occasion to teach her Divine things: he converted this woman, by showing her ignorance and sinfulness, and her need of a Saviour.3a25110b93f0bf9972419b18943848597144016735256266217.jpg

By this living water is meant the Spirit. Under this comparison, the blessing of the Messiah had been promised in the Old Testament. The graces of the Spirit and his comforts satisfy the thirsting soul, that knows its own nature and necessity. What Yeshua spoke figuratively, she took literally. Yeshua shows that the water of Jacob’s well yielded a very short satisfaction. Of whatever waters of comfort we drink, we shall thirst again. But whoever partakes of the Spirit of grace, and the comforts of the gospel shall never want that which will abundantly satisfy his soul. Carnal hearts look no higher than carnal ends.

Prayer is one of the great laws of natural religion. That man is a brute, is a monster, that never prays, that never gives glory to his Maker, nor feels his favour, nor owns 8e4257d52df440ab10d98697585330012491272346143427431.jpghis dependence upon him. One great design, therefore of Christianity is to assist us in prayer, to enforce the duty upon us, to instruct us in it, and encourage us to expect advantage by it.

Lord, teach us to pray, is itself a good prayer, and a very needful one, for it is a hard thing to pray well and it is Yeshua only that can teach us, by his word and Spirit, how to pray “Lord, teach me what it is to pray Lord, excite and quicken me to the duty Lord, direct me what to pray for Lord, give me praying graces, that I may serve God acceptably in prayer Lord, teach me to pray in proper words give me a mouth and wisdom in prayer, that I may speak as I ought teach me what I shall say.”

CLOSING PRAYER by Robert

Place before us, Heavenly Father, the tools to prepare the ground for the seeds CARRYING SACK 2we need to sow. Strengthen our purpose in doing your work, maintaining the soil that we may sow the seeds of love and compassion to those souls in need. Bring us the knowledge to know when to water and tend to those areas we have tilled and sown. Father this we pray in the name of Yeshua Amen and Amen.

CLOSING STATEMENT by Robert

The Master’s assurance that prays The Master’s assurance that prayer, if persisted in, would ever be heard and granted, and there is the all-important limitation that the thing prayed for must be something” good” in the eyes of the heavenly Father. How many requests are made by us, poor, shortsighted, often selfish men, which, if granted, would be harmful rather than a blessing to the asker! Here the Lord, the Reader of hearts, having taken notice of some of the deep, earnest longings, perhaps scarcely crystallized into prayer, of his own disciples, or a John or a James pictures the case of one who deserves a special deepening of the spiritual life and prays some prayer. Earlier, we learned the living water is the Holy Spirit who brings Gods wisdom and Love so it will grow in us bringing everlasting Eternal peace and life. Yeshua says, “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again. But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14

  3. I use Yeshua as our Lord’s true name. Translated from Hebrew His name means “Salvation.” So when you use His name you are extolling Salvation. The name Jesus is a Greek translation, it’s use was part of the translators vocabulary in 1611. I am not messianic but research all areas that deal with our Lord, as a Watchman, since 1986.
Here is a question: Have you heard anybody use the true name of our saviour Yeshua in anger or vain? As in comparison the Greek translation? My use is only by personal choice.
I will identify now, you will find I do not identify with the label of Christian or Christianity. I use Assembly Believe, Acclessia. Reasoning the label of Christian or Christianity in my opinion have been bastardized in the eyes of the world. Many see hypocritical actions and turn off. I found many relate to the words Assembly and Believers as being sincere and offering and easy path, without hypocrisy. My personal stand is offering truth without compromise. Exposing false teachers, hirelings, and those subjugating our Lords teachings. I apologize for this lengthy commentary. Stated so you know my walk as a faithful servant. Blessings. Robert

Thanks for sharing this article. Are you a messianic Jew? You stated Yeshua instead of Jesus. Just curious. Blessings to you my friend.
