PRE-AMBLE by Robert
When we come to Salvation we become the Lord’s Bride, as such, it becomes our 
task to serve. This article will reveal through Peter’s lessons to wives, how we as Yeshua’s brides in waiting, should be demonstrating our position as those brides. Wherein the apostle describes the duties of husbands and wives one to another, beginning with the duty of the wife (1 Peter 3:1-7). He exhorts Christians to unity, love, compassion, peace, and patience under sufferings; to oppose the slanders of their enemies, not by returning evil for evil, or railing for railing, but by blessing; by a ready account of their faith and hope, and by keeping a good conscience (1 Peter 3:8-17).
OPENING STATEMENT by Robert
The following is quoted from Matthew Henry’s commentary on Peter’s instructions in chapter three to believing women on how to conduct themselves as wives to their husbands and to us as future brides how we should be preparing and presenting 
ourselves as future wives to Yeshua while waiting for His return.
In 1Peter 3 we find the Apostle revealing those attributes.
That the duty of wives consists of, subjection or an affectionate submission to the will, and obedience to the just authority, of their own husbands, which obliging conduct would be the most likely way to win those disobedient and unbelieving husbands. Who has rejected the word, or who attended to no other evidence of the truth other than what they saw in the prudent, peaceable, and exemplary conversation of their wives?
Learn, every distinct relation has its particular duties, which ministers should preach, and the people would understand. A cheerful subjection, with loving, reverential respect, are duties, Believing women pay their husbands, whether they are good or bad; these were due from Eve to Adam before the fall, and are still required, though much more difficult now than they were before, Genesis 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:11.
Though the design of the word of the gospel is to win and gain souls to Yeshua, yet there are many so obstinate they will not be won by the word. There is nothing more powerful, next to the word of God, to win people than a good conversation, and the careful discharge of relative duties. Impiety and infidelity do not dissolve the bonds, nor dispense with the duties, of civil relations; the wife must discharge her duty to her own husband, though he obeys not the word. In fear, or reverence to their husbands, Ephesians 5:33.
In a chaste conversation, which their unbelieving husbands would observe and attend to. Evil men usually are strict observers of the conversation of the professors of Spirituality; their curiosity, envy, and jealousy, causes them to watch narrowly the ways and lives of spiritual people. A chaste conversation, attended with due and proper respect to everyone, is an excellent means to cause many to investigate the power faith of the gospel and obedience obtained through the word holds for individuals walking with it.
In preferring the ornaments of the mind to those of the body [1] He lays down a rule in regard to the dress of believing women, 1 Peter 3:3.
Here are three sorts of ornaments forbidden: plaiting of hair, which was commonly used in those times by lewd women; wearing of gold, or ornaments made of gold, was practised by Rebecca, and Esther, and other believing women, but afterwards became the attire chiefly of harlots and wicked people; putting on of apparel, which is not absolutely forbidden, but only too much nicety and costliness in it.
Learn, First, Spiritual people should take care that all their external behaviour be answerable to their profession of Spirituality: They must be holy in all manner of conversation. Secondly, The outward adorning of the body is very often sensual and excessive; for instance, when it is immoderate, and above your degree and station in the world, when you are proud of it and puffed up with it, when you dress with design to allure and tempt others, when your apparel is too rich, curious, or superfluous, when your fashions are fantastical, imitating the levity and vanity of the worst people, and when they are immodest and wanton. The attire of a harlot can never become a chaste Christian matron.
[2] Instead of the outward adorning of the body, he directs Believing wives to put on much more excellent and beautiful ornaments, v 4. Here note, First, The part to be adorned: The hidden man of the heart; that is, the soul; the hidden, the inner man. Take care to adorn and beautify your souls rather than your bodies.
Secondly, The ornament prescribed. It must, in general, be something not corruptible, that beautifies the soul, that is, the graces and virtues of God’s Holy Spirit. The ornaments of the body are destroyed by the moth, and perish in the using; but the grace of God, the longer we wear it, the brighter and better it is. More especially, the finest ornament of Believing women is a meek and quiet spirit, a tractable easy temper of mind, void of passion, pride, and immoderate anger, discovering itself in a quiet obliging behaviour towards their husbands and families.
If the husband is harsh and averse to religion (which was the case of these good wives to whom the apostle gives this direction), there is no way so likely to win him as a prudent meek behaviour.
At least, a quiet spirit will make a good woman easy to herself, which, being visible to others, becomes an amiable ornament to a person in the eyes of the world.
Thirdly, The excellency of it. Meekness and calmness of spirit are, in the sight of God, of great price – amiable in the sight of men, and precious in the sight of God. Learn, 1. A true Believer’s chief care lies in the right ordering and commanding of his own spirit. Where the hypocrite’s work ends, there the true Believer’s work begins 2. The endowments of the inner man are the chief ornaments of a Believer; but especially a composed, calm, and quiet spirit, renders either man or woman beautiful and lovely.

“When the end comes, the kingdom of heaven will be like ten bridesmaids. They took their oil lamps and went to meet the groom. [2] Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. [3] The foolish bridesmaids took their lamps, but they didn’t take any extra oil.” Matthew 25:1-3 GW
When I read this scripture Matthew Henry’s commentary and explanation of what and how the Kingdom of Heaven is illustrated and the state of things under the gospel, the external kingdom of Yeshua, its administration and achievement of it.
Among the Jews on that occasion, the bridegroom came, attended with his friends, late in the night, to the house of the bride, where she expected him, attended with her bride-maids who, upon notice given of the bridegrooms’ approach, were to go out with lamps in their hands, to light him into the house with ceremony and formality, in order to the celebrating of the nuptials with great mirth. And some think that on these occasions they had usually ten virgins for the Jews never held a synagogue, circumcised, kept the Passover, or contracted marriage, but ten persons at least were present. Boaz, when he married Ruth, had ten witnesses, Ruth 4:2. Now in this parable, 1. The Bridegroom is our Lord Jesus Christ he is so represented in the Psalms 45:1-17, Song of Solomon 1:1-8:14, and often in the New Testament. It bespeaks his singular and superlative love to, and his faithful and inviolable covenant with, his spouse the church. Believers are now betrothed to Christ (Hosea 2:19) but the solemnizing of the marriage is reserved for the great day, when the bride, the Lamb’s wife, will have made herself completely ready, Revelation 19:7,9.
Remember, these messages are given by a humble servant obedient 
unto our Lord Yeshua as a Watchman. I pray for all. ”Our Heavenly Father brings us to the river which bringeth forth fruit so we may partake of its sustenance and be filled spiritually with nurturing wisdom, and humble dedication in service to Yeshua.” “ Blessings to All.” As you go forward in peace, knowledge, and strength.
