“THAT’S REALITY!”

“Come to me, all who are tired from carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Place my yoke over your shoulders, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble. Then you will find rest for yourselves because my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

PRE-AMBLE by Robert
Yeshua invites all to come to him for rest to their souls. He alone gives this invitation; men come to him, when, feeling their guilt and misery, and believing his love and power to help, they seek him in fervent prayer. Thus it is the duty and interest of weary and heavy-laden sinners, to come to Yeshua (Jesus Christ). This is the gospel call; Whoever will let him come. All who thus come will receive rest as Yeshua’s gift and obtain peace and comfort in their hearts.
However, worldly men burden themselves with fruitless cares for wealth and honours; the gay and the sensual labour in pursuit of pleasures; the slave of Satan and his own lusts, is the merest drudge on earth. Those who labour to establish their own righteousness also labour in vain. The convinced sinner is heavy-laden with guilt and terror, and the tempted and afflicted believer has labours and burdens.

OPENING PRAYER by Robert
Father in heaven, as a humble servant I place before your throne this petition to break the bonds of error from the minds of those in the darkness shrouding our world. I petition Lord, for the breaking and removal of the blinders from their eyes so they may see your truth. Lift them out the darkness, so they realize they are journeying to the pit of eternal damnation. Father fill your flock with wisdom and determination so they might sharpen their two-edged swords. Bring us spiritual strength that we might go forward as warriors in your name. All this I pray in the name of Yeshua, Amen and, Amen.

OPENING STATEMENT by Robert
We may take great encouragement in looking upward to God when round about us we see nothing but what is discouraging. It is sad to see, how regardless most men are of their own happiness, but it is comfortable to think that the wise and faithful God will, however, effectually secure the interests of his own glory. Yeshua answered and said, I thank thee.

Thanksgiving is a proper answer to dark and disquieting thoughts and maybe an effectual means to silence them. Songs of praise are sovereign cordials to drooping souls and will help to cure melancholy. When we have no other answer ready to the suggestions of grief and fear, we may have recourse to this, I thank thee, O Father let us bless God that it is not worse with us than it is.

We are shown what the answer to overcoming Satans torments, lies and lifes deceptions are in Romans 12:16 “Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be arrogant, but be friendly to humble people. Don’t think that you are smarter than you really are.
Matthew Henry comments on this verse: “God must be served with the spirit, under the influences of the Holy Spirit. He is honoured by our hope and trust in him, especially when we rejoice in that hope. He is served, not only by working for him but by sitting still quietly, when he calls us to suffer. Patience for God’s sake is true piety. Those that rejoice in hope are likely to be patient in tribulation. We should not be cold in the duty of prayer, nor soon weary of it. Not only must there be a kindness to friends and brethren, but Believers must not harbour anger against enemies. It is but mock love, which rests in words of kindness, while our brethren need real supplies, and it is in our power to furnish them.“

The following statement becomes a stumbling block for many in seeking our Lord’s help to overcome Satan’s power over them. His lies of gaining more peace from the wonders and gifts of the world abide deep with some. His lies, we lose control over our lives and the decisions to be made throughout our walk if we accept Yeshua’s  Yoke.
However, when we seek out further information, through Matthew Henry’s commentary about Matthew 12:16 we find the truth for taking on Yeshua’s Yoke: “But in coming to Yeshua we must take his yoke, and submit to his authority. We must learn of him all things, as to our comfort and obedience. He accepts the willing servant, however imperfect the services. Here we may find rest for our souls, and here only. Nor need we fear his yoke. His commandments are holy, just, and good. It requires self-denial and exposes to difficulties, but this is abundantly repaid, even in this world, by inward peace and joy.”
“It is a yoke that is lined with love. So powerful are the assistances he gives us, so suitable the encouragements, and so strong the consolations to be found in the way of duty, that we may truly say, it is a yoke of pleasantness. The way of duty is the way of rest. The truths Christ teaches are such as we may venture our souls upon. Such is the Redeemer’s mercy; and why should the labouring and burdened sinner seek for rest from any other quarter?

Let us come to him daily, for deliverance from wrath and guilt, from sin and Satan, from all our cares, fears, and sorrows. But forced obedience, far from being easy and light, is a heavy burden. In vain do we draw near to Yeshua with our lips, while the heart is far from him? Then come to Yeshua to find rest for your souls.”

 

CLOSING STATEMENT by Robert

Reality sets in when we accept, our fears based on Satan’s lies, and rely on our bank accounts and are yoked to believing we are bound to working hard, to prosper and have enough to take care of our families. When in reality all we are doing is allowing ourselves to become Satan’s worldly slaves. Slaves to the clock, slaves to debt, slaves to pride, vanity, slaves to the technical wonders of the world, the lust for power and physical gratification and most of all slaves to believing we must entertain ourselves at any cost. This reality is a Yoke, multitudes find themselves burdened with because they have fallen into the belief, as pointed out in Romans 1:21-22
[21]Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. [22]Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. 

Now, there will be those who will state I am using scripture incorrectly. I remind all Paul was speaking to those who had drawn God down to their level of understanding to justify the Yokes they had chosen. When we abandon our faith to be replaced by our worldly pearls of wisdom. Those choices are made out of misguided religious wisdom supported by fear of non-accomplishment of worldly achievements and acceptance of those in the world, however not fear in God. Which is the Reality of those decisions, now being the idols of worship, power, riches, vanity, physical prowess and many others?

I remind all of what we were shown about Yeshua’s YOKE, His commandments are holy, just, and good. It requires self-denial and exposes to difficulties, but this is abundantly repaid, even in this world, by inward peace and joy.”

Reality is, sure there is a call to a huge amount of trust and deep demand on our faith to take on the chore of self-denial and many of lifes difficulties. But is repaid abundantly in this world through inward peace and joy. I for one can testify our Lord keeps His promises that we as His children are cared for, so there are peace and joy in our lives. My testimony is I no longer have the burdens of life nor am I a slave to Satan and his wiles. The reality, I am free to use my will in all decisions life requires of me knowing my choices now are mine done in the will of God. “THAT’s REALITY!
