BEING UNIQUE !!
Every day you hear advice encouraging you to learn how to succeed or to be the best or aspire to reach notoriety which abounds in all fields of endeavor. Has anyone really taken the time to recognize what it takes to be unique? What transpires to the individual or company who attains the position of unique? By the way, company Uniqueness is attained through the upper level leadership group which I can and will work with.
Not everyone is capable of maintaining a position of uniqueness not everyone who reaches this lofty position, is prepared for the changes when they do. Let me explain as I know many will refute and say I worked and studied hard to get here and your wrong I can handle anything that might occur, and possibly so, but ponder the following.
When you look at the picture in the heading, what do you see, do you see anything that might display unique? Ask yourself why did Robert pick this particular picture to portray uniqueness. Can you see any comparison to the business world in this picture? If you consider yourself unique where would you see yourself positioned in this vast domain of businesses and business people?
Are you starting to understand the scenario of why I chose this particular scene, yes the business community can be compared to a Forest filled with trees that are unique in their own right. Each exuding success and strength being bold and aggressive when needed, growing stronger and taller, however all looking exactly the same, some just taller, some a bit broader, some shiner in texture; but all being a part of a Forest of uniqueness.
I chose this picture to demonstrate that even with mastering the skills being offered to succeed and develop yourself as being unique, unless you remove yourself from the Forest you will be just another tree within it.
So the question is how do you go about removing yourself from the Forest? How do you make your skills more pertinent to the business world? Then the next and most relevant question is can you handle being in a position outside of the Forest, are you prepared for what it entails and demands.
To qualify my last question I am going to refresh your minds by describing the definition of Unique as published in the Online English Dictionary as follows:
- adjective (not comparable) Being the only one of its kind; unequalled, unparalled or unmatched. 2 Of a feature, such that only one holder has it. 3. (disputed) Of a rare quality. 4. (disputed) Unusual.
- synonyms one of a kind , sui generis, singular .
- noun A thing without a like; something unequalled or unparallelled
So now it has become clear what it’s going to take to reach the real level of beingunique or just a part of a Forest of unique trees. This doesn’t mean those in the Forest are not successful in their right, but for those who really want to break free, you now have a defined challenge before you to achieve the ultimate goal of truly being unique.
There is a caution for those considering taking this challenge there are two sides to this coin which you need to recognize. Know that before going into this challenge you personally need to fully and honestly understand yourweaknesses and strengths, beyond any ego filled imagination you personally have of those qualities, as not everyone can maintain this lofty position in life without doing so.
Once this level of unique is attained you are in the position of complete scrutiny by all those who have chosen to be unique in the Forest as well as those who choose to be a part of your success. When I first introduced this model of unique I was asked what do I mean by being fully and honestly understanding of my weaknesses and strengths. The answer to this question is in a technique I have developed to take a look at yourself which I would love to share but know that the use of the {T} must be supervised by one who knows its power and usefulness. This system is not a toy to take lightly initially, however once you learn how to master its use, it becomes a tool you will never put down or forget about. It will change your outlook on life and your position in it but you must be honest or it will not work, there are no shortcuts and it represents hard work.
For those desiring to attain unique status outside of the Forest it is a must so you can develop your weaknesses and utilize them as another tool and capture your strengths so you utilize them in a controlled manner stabilizing your growth.
